Solar energy in the Midi Pyrénées region
3rd April, 2007, News.
The Midi Pyrénées region has become equipped with a solar power plant. The Regional Council has decided to install a solar power plant on the roofs of the Hôtel de Région (Regional Council Offices), as part of its climate plan. This plant will have about 300 m² of photovoltaic solar panels, with a total power rating of 39 kWe. It will capture solar energy, to enable electricity to be produced and avoid approximately 5 tons of CO2 being emitted into the atmosphere each year. It will be installed in July 2007, and will be one of the biggest installations in the Midi Pyrénées region to produce solar electricity. The Regional Council has entrusted us with the production of this installation with solar collectors being produced in the Toulouse area. The installation has been designed so that it is hardly visible, in order to be in harmony with the original architecture of the buildings. A display panel will be placed in the Atrium of the Hôtel de Région so that the elected officials, staff and visitors can follow the operation and production of this solar power plant in real time. The ambition of the JP. FAUCHE Group is to develop this worthy activity and contribute to conserving our environment.
